Here's a wonderful little Vibro Champ from the mid 70s, most likely circa 1975 in excellent condition. These hand-wired mini giants pump out a sparkling, spanky chime to grind, with blissful upper harmonics that is never too harsh. Smooth lows and a signature choppy tremolo push the original little Special Design speaker to into breakup with very satisfying results.
The circuit in these Vibro Champs changed very little through the 1970s, and perhaps for good reason. Though not necessarily from the golden age of Fender amps, this unit is practical, portable and every bit the quality of it's beastly cousins, made well before it's mostly maligned post-70s 'successors'.
The only obvious modification on this unit is a pair of 8 ohm speaker outs on the back panel. This thing really rocks!
